Thomas Café

Established in 1929, Thomas Café is the longest continuously operating restaurant in South Carolina, and that’s because the down-home cooking is just that good. Breakfast includes biscuits, pancakes, omelets and the Prince George, a hearty meal of two eggs, meat, grits or home fries, toast or biscuit and three silver-dollar pancakes. Lunch consists of sandwiches, salads and soups and the café’s special shrimp and stone-ground grits with red-eye gravy, sautéed sweet peppers, onions and country ham served with fried green tomatoes. Most importantly, no one leaves hungry.
