Pop-Up Bakery: Mr. Ron’s Gullahlicious Pound Cakes

The Gullah Museum is hosting a special pop-up store for Mr. Ron’s Gullahlicious Pound Cakes by Ron Daise from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Meet Ron and buy a slice of, or an entire, Blessings Pound Cake made with butter, rum, coconut, lemon, 2 secret flavorings and decorated with edible gold to tantalize ya tongue!

Get to the event early because when the cake is gone—it’s done-done gone. Ron’s Blessings Pound Cake honors the Gullah Geechee values of spirituality and resilience. Its adornment of edible gold reflects the beauty and richness of Carolina Gold rice, whose production and harvest were due to West Africans and their Gullah Geechee descendants.
