The Friends of the Georgetown Library are pleased to announce the start of our seventh year of Tuesdays With…, a monthly lecture series featuring outstanding speakers and topics of special interest to local listeners.
Tuesdays With… will convene for the first time this fall on September 19th, at 10 am, in the Winyah Auditorium at 1200 Highmarket Street (one block south of the Georgetown Library). We start this year’s series with a presentation by Victoria Smalls, Executive Director of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor, on “Welcome to the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.” The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor is a National Heritage Area established by the United States Congress to recognize the unique culture of the Gullah Geechee people who have traditionally resided in the coastal areas and the sea islands of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, including Georgetown.
Please reserve the date on your calendar and plan to join us to learn more about Gullah Geechee people and a unique, world culture.
