Take a step into Georgetown’s past at Constitution Park, a small but memorable gateway to the city’s iconic Harborwalk.
Here, two historic Civil War-era cannons offer a glimpse into Georgetown’s military history. Once mounted in front of the U.S. Naval Reserve building on Front Street, the cannons were part of the Confederate defense system during the Civil War.
Today, they have found a new role as one of those unexpected discoveries that make exploring Georgetown fun. Stop for a photo with these historic pieces, then continue your stroll toward the Harborwalk and the beautiful Sampit River waterfront.
