East Bay Park
The largest outdoor park in the city with the most amenities is East Bay Park, which is located on a peninsula offering amazing views of the Great Pee Dee and Sampit rivers.
Sports enthusiasts will enjoy ball fields, tennis courts, a perimeter walking path, a disc-golf course and an indoor recreation center with a basketball court. All the sports facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis, although the fields and tennis courts can be booked for league events or tournaments.
Visitors to East Bay Park can also challenge their muscles and get their hearts pumping on five outdoor fitness stations, complete with instructions on who to best use each fitness zone. This area was established in 2016 by the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class and several sponsors.
East Bay Park also features an expansive playground with swings, slides, a jungle gym and more for young visitors. It is dog-friendly, although dogs must be leashed at all times. Summer visitors are advised to use caution in the summertime, when the southern climate can be particularly hot for furry park goers.
